Summary
The history of civilization has resulted in two divergent worldviews: the
scientific and the humanistic. Our continuously evolving understanding
of Nature necessitates a re-evaluation of the picture of humankind by
the synthesis of these two worldviews. Although well-known scientists
have explicitly drawn attention to this fact, humanistic thinkers, such as
lawyers, pedagogues and, above all, politicians, have remained unaffected by
this concept. On the one hand, human beings think and act without regard for
the scientific laws of human existence. On the other hand, Nature responds
to this human disregard by ignoring our moral concepts. Therefore,
value-oriented behavior often results in a betrayal of its own intent.
